Home gyms are becoming a rage these days. People are converting their study rooms and part of their sharing space in their house to accommodate a home gym. Home gyms are preferred because they cut down on time, are convenient and provide privacy. This will include things like lighting, flooring, ventilation system, and music.

The minimum area needed to build a home gym is about 150 square feet. You should refrain from building your home+gym in the basement area.

Flooring is also an important part while building a gym. You can choose between rubber flooring or a vinyl flooring. One can be comfortable standing, running or walking freely easily unlike a tiled floor or carpeted flooring. Also rubber flooring can easily reduce the impact of any equipment fall. Rubber flooring is easy to maintain and clean as well. Light and air are two important factors in a gym. The lighting that is used should not hurt the eyes. Dimmed lights are good for Yoga exercises or if you are relaxing after a workout session. You can also have lights concealed behind mirrors affixed on a well+lit wall.

Now I’m talking about a home gym I’m not talking about some fancy Bowflex are Total Gym. Although, there are ways to get those types of home gyms without having spent a fortune. To get a home gym on a limited budget you may have to settle for purchasing a used or out of stock unit. To find a used home gym one of the best places to go to is Craigslist. EBay does offer you the protection against a potential scam if you use your PayPal card. Another place you can go to is a website called Gumtree.

So if a week later your home gym falls apart your out of luck.

Another way to get a home gym on a limited budget is to look in your local newspaper in the classified section. Beware of scams, rip offs and if the equipment fails to work– you are out of luck!

There is in my opinion a better solution than used home gyms. Don’t discount the value of free shipping since when purchasing a used home gym you will typically have to rent a van or pickup truck to pick up these units. This adds to the cost of getting a home gym.
